I Mr Stewart, the Minister of Im- , migration, introduced an amendment to the Immigration Act in the House of Commons providing for deportation of British subjects for political offences only after a conviction had been secured. The Minister explained that the amendment would remove certain discriminations against British-born residents in Canada who were. not. qualified to vote.
