Peacock Feathers.” which is the c 'hief feature at. the Queen's Theatre this week, is a story of absorbing interest which tells of the struggle between riches and love in the heart of a girl. Jerry Chandler, the son of 'the pastor of a little Pennsylvanian town, meets Mimi Le Brim as she is en route to her home in St Louis. He is attracted by the girl, but has to refuse an invitation to visit her on account of his lack of money. Ultimately Jerry’s uncle dies and Mimi marries Jerry. They go to the uncle’s ranch, and instead of an elaborate place they find a tumbledown shack and uncultivated soil. Mimi's annoyance is extreme, she first believing that •ferry lias tricked her. Jerry is caught by an avalanche and badly hurt. As a beacon be lights a tree and is rescued. Mimi, meanwhile, tested by Jerry’s danger, decides that she really loves him, and the two set about making something valuable out of their land, which has tremendous possibilities. There is a full supporting programme, including the fifth episode of Universal’s serial, “ Samson ot the Circus.” The Queen's Harmonic Orchestra. under the con-ductor-snip of Mr H. Ellwood, plays a specially selected programme of incidental music.
