SOU’-WESTER AND RAIN MAKE CONDITIONS BAD FOR REGATTA.
The annual regatta at Lake Forsyth was held to-dav. Weather conditions were unfavourable, and a strong: sou’wester accompanied by rain-showers made the water choppy. Results: SENIOR DOUBLE SCULLS (One mile and a half).
Avon 2 The only starters. 'The Avon boat was water-logged soon after the start and came in a long way behind. MAIDEN FOUR-OAR. (One mile.) Avon No. 1 1 Union 2 Avon Xo. 2 3 Won by three lengths.^ YOUTHS’ DOUBLE SCULLS. One Mile. Avon 1 Canterbury 2 Union 3 Won by four lengths. One length between second and third. SENIOR FOUR-OAR. One mile and a half. Avon 1 Union 2 Won by two lengths. JUNIOR DOUBLE SCULLS. One mile. Unlc*n 1 Avon 2 Won easily. YOUTHS’ FOUR OARS. One Mile. Avon Xo. 1 1 Union 2 Avon. No. 2 3 Won by three lengths. There was a great finish for pecond place, Union beating Avon No. 2 by about a foot. MAIDEN DOUBLE SCULLS. * One Mile. Canterbury 1 Avon 2 Won by two lengths. JUNIOR FOUR-OAR One mile. Union 1 Canterbury 2 Won by two and a half lengths. SENIOR PAIR-OAR. . One mile and a half. Avon 2 Won easily. LIGHT-WEIGHT MAIDEN FOUR-OAR One mile. Avon No. 2 1 Avon No. 1 2 Union 3 Won by two feet.
