GROCER’S EMPLOYEE APPEARS IN COURT. That he stole a sum of 16s 7id and a further sum of £5 10s llid from Tucks. Ltd., grocers. Colombo Street, were charges preferred against Clarence Pepper at the Magistrate’s Court, before Mr 11. A. Young, S.M., to-day. It was stated that the accused collected the money on behalf of the firm, and failed to pay it in. On the application of Chief-Detective Gibson, a remand was granted until Thursday next. Bail, in self £SO and one surety of £SO in respect of each charge, was allowed.
