H. NEVILL-SMITH’S FAREWELL RECITAL.

To-morrow evening is set down for the farewell recital by Mr 11. NevillSmith, whose concert on Wednesday last created a very favourable impression. Mr Nevill-Smith has chosen from his repertoire of modern song writers and will include in to-morrow night’s programme the famous “ I du Tarli ” (The Two Worms) by the eminent Italian composer Zaudonai (for the first time in New Zealand); “A Caravan from China Comes,” poem by Richard Le Gallienne and music by Barnett; French songs b3>- Gounod, Marty and Rhene-Barton, etc. In addition, Mr Nevill-Smith has been requested to sing from the programme of Wednesday

“Like the Sky" (Kosakoff) and “The Living God” (O’Hara). Rees M’Conachy will include the A Major Sonata (Handel) with which he won the recent Dunedin Exhibition competition (professional class). Miss Piri Thompson, solo pianist, will play “ Scherzo ” Op. 31 (Chopin) and group “Javanese Dance,” “ Bird of Paradise at the Waterfall,” “In a Chinese City” (W. Nieumann), etc. This will be Miss Piri Thompson’s last appearance in Christchurch prior to her'departure for Europe. Miss Eileen Twomey will be accompanist for this recital. The. box plans are now open at The- Bristol, where also day sale and students’ concession tickets can be obtained.
