GUN CLUB. The Lyttelton Gun Club held a twelve bird match at Officer’s Point on Saturday afternoon for trophies presented by Messrs Fletcher, Humphrey and Co., Messrs Forbes Ltd., and a club trophy. There was some good shooting. A. L. Turner broke the possible and won. with L. Bladder second and 11. Grenncll third. In a second sweepstake Reihl and A. N. Turner broke all their birds and divided the stake. A third sweep, first miss out, was won by W. Roberts on the fourth bird. TUG-OF-WAR CONTEST. Twelve local teams have entered for the combined Poultry and Gun Clubs’ tug-oif-war contest, which commences in thii Drill Hall on Thursday night. The draw, which was made on Saturday evening is as folows: —Poultry Club A v. Fire Brigade: Returned Soldiers v. Marine Band; Rowing Club v. Grade’s team; Buffalos v. Railways; Gun Club v. Population; Reynolds s team v. Poultry Club B. Each team will consist of five men, the weight of the team not to exced sixty stone. PERSONAL. Mrs It. Avers and Miss Edna Ayers, who have visited Wellington, returned yesterday. Misses M. and C. Williams, who have been tto the Dunedin Exhibition and Stewfirt Island, have returned to Lyttelton.
