The Hawke Cup match, Nelson v. Wanganui, was commenced this morning on a wicket a trifle soft, duo to overnight rain. Nelson won the toss and batted, but little could be done against the bowling of Holland and Bernau, the first four wickets falling for twenty-eight runs. K. Eden and Biggar made a stand, and at the luncheon adjournment the score was four for sixty-five, Eden not out 26 being the only double-figure scorer. Marylebone in their first innings made 143 and in their second 177 for three wickets (Holmes 56).
