NEW PICTURE PALACE FOR CH’CH.

FULLER’S ABANDON OPERA YOUSE PLAN, REPORT ASSERTS.

Christchurch is to have what will possibly be the largest and best motion picture theatre in the Dominion. Fuller’s, Ltd., announced last year that it was their intention to build a sixstorey theatre at the corner of Manchester and Lichfield Streets, and that the cost would be in the region of £140.000. It was the intention of the firm to build a theatre on the lines of the most modern of opera houses, but it is now learned on reliable authority that the theatre is to be a motion picture theatre.

It is understood that it will surpass the Majestic Theatre, Auckland, in size, design and every other respect.
