CANTERBURY ROWING CLUB HOLDS HALFYEARLY MEETING.
The half-yearly meeting of tlic Canterbury Rowing Club was hold last evening. Mr V. I>. Hewer presiding. The chairman referred to the Toes suffered by the club through the deaths of Mr F. .7. Stewart and Mr A. G. Boswell. As a mark of respect, the members present stood in silence, and it was resolved to send a ldtter of sympathy to the relatives «>f the late members. The chairman said that the pajst year had not been a very eventful one from the point of view of rowing. The I.vttelton and Redeliffs regattas had been cancelled. and the only other one so far had been that at Akaroa, which had not, been very successful on account of the. adveres weather conditions. He would liko to sec more regattas. The club captain. Mr F. T-T. Brown, said that there was good material in the club now, and if the members worked together they would, ho felt sure. Lave a satisfactory season. The treasurer presented the financial Abatement. which showed an iniDrovemen on that, of last season.
