Bush fires in the Murrumbidgee district. which were threatening Canberra. are now under control, but the fire fighters aw remaining at their posts in case their services are needed further. A fire at Gladstone this morning completely demolished a nine-roomed house owned and occupied by Alex Grant. Nothing was saved, the occupants escaping in their night attire. !Xhe insurances were £750.
