LEAGUE OFFICIAL WILL RESIGN.
STARTLING DISCLOSURES HINTED FOR SATURDAY.
The Canterbury Rugby League Executive will hold a meeting on Saturday evening to deal with various matters that have arisen, including the resignation of the secretary, Mr W. S. E. Moyle.
From information gathered, it appears that the relations between the executive and the Ground Board have been strained for some considerable time.
It is stated that, though the local executive had made searching inquiries into several matters in dispute, and had fixed upon a conference when the local president, Dr Thacker, returned from his visit to England, the opposing faction did not view that aspect with favour and invited the president of the New Zealand Council to Christchurch. They placed their views before the council, and the result was in their favour, hence the resignation of the secretary. It is rumoured that some sensational disclosures will be the. outcome of the inquiry at Saturday night’s meeting.
