LONDON, December 16. A remarkable accident occurred on the escalator at Tottenham Court Road. A woman ascending from the underground station overbalanced on reaching the top. and fell backwards, causing scores of passengers following her. taken unawares, to collapse like ninepins. Several women were injured and had tlieir skirts torn off.
