DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 27. The Dominion croquet championships were advanced another stage to-dav. The surprise of the day was the defeat of .Sir Francis Wemyas in two events. Following were the results:- — LADIES’ CHAMPIONSIIIP SINGLES. Mrs Leach (Wellington) beat Mrs Henderson (Wellington), 26-1 S. Mrs Johnson (Christchurch) beat Mrs Gambrill (Palmerston North), 26-9. Mrs Watkins (Hastings) boat Mrs Smith (Christchurch), 26-21. Mrs Leach beat Mrs Johnson, 26-21 OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES J. Murray (Hamilton) beat Sir Francis Wemyss (England). 2-9. Miss Hesketh (Auckland) beat J Caughley, 2-1. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES Mesdames Watkf?ia and PUcaithlev (Hawke’B Bay) beat Mrs Johnson and A. Rosa (Christchurch) in the final,
