According to an analysis of voting in the last State election published by the secretary of the Nationalist Association, the Nationalists and Progressives polled 456,245 votes and Labour 438,578 votes. The analysis was made in connection with the claim that the Government represents a minority of the electors. and therefore has not a mandate to abolish the Legislative Council.
