The Vienna correspondent of “The Times” reports that the latest figures show that unemployment in Austria is increasing at the rate of 10,000 weekly. The total unemployed at the end of December was estimated at 240.000 or 4 per cent of the whole population. Vienna alone has over 100,000 idle, the highest recorded figure.
