AMATEUR CYCLIN'
CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. A meeting of the committee of tlie Christchurch Amateur Cycling Club was held on Wednesday evening. Present: Messrs S. C. Forrester (chairman), H. Blanchard, (secretary). L. Poore, E. Blake way. L. Hill, and S. Miller. The question of issuing numbers to all riders was discussed at considerable length, and it was definitely decided to place the matter in the hands of the secretary, with a view to having the numbers in use for the seven-mile road race to bo held at Riccarton on Tuesday evening. Officials were also appointed for this race. Mr Poore brought up the matter of purchasing a stop watch. Mr Blakeway moved, and Mr Gray seconded, that a watch be obtained as early as possible. Mr Forrester moved, and Mr Poore seconded, that an eleven-mile road race should be held at Hoon Hay on Saturday week. The course will be from Wilson's bridge, at the bottom of Hoon Hay .Road (near Bradbury's nursery), to ITalswell quarries, via the foothills, and thence back to Hoon Hay Road via Hal swell. Twenty-three new members were -enrolled, this bringing the membership up to 220. A scheme for giving the younger riders better chances of winning prizes is under consideration.
