King's Speech and Letter of Credit were scratched at noon for the Railway Handicap at the Auckland Racing Club’s meeting. CANTERBURY DISTRICT COMMITTEE. The Canterbury District Committee met on Tuesday. The following programmes were approved:— Ranks Peninsula Racing Club (December lf*> and Chatham Island Jockey Club (December 29). Trainers’ licenses were recommended J. G. Thompson and IS. Redmond, conditionally on their obtaining horses A jockey’s license was recommended to R- F. J. Harris, conditionally on his obtaining permanent employment in a recognised- training stable. The jockey’s license of F. c. Porter was suspended until December 31. The transfer of Sleet from C. R. Elgar to tV. M. Higginson was approved.
