Mr Lloyd George, speaking at a Liberal dinner at the House of Commons, in proposing the health of the Earl of Oxford and Asquith, said: "If T am an obstacle to Liberal unity I am prepared to withdraw. J do not want to be the cause of the Liberal Party failing to get together." Earl Oxford said that there was no reason why anyone should contemplate withdrawal. What they had to do was to try to work together.
