CANADA AND U.S.A. HAVE GREAT FUTURE. SAYS J. J. DAVIS.
MUST WORK TOGETHER FOR COMMON GOOD. (Reuter’s Correspondence.) MONTREAL. October 10. Speaking at an unofficial luncheon tendered to him by members of the Canadian Club, Hon J. J. Davis. United States Minister of Labour, expressed the opinion that Canada would one day have a population of 75.000.000. Mr Davis, who jvas born in Wales, said: “Canadians and the people of
the United States are one and the same people, both having the same aspirations and inspirations. The two Governments of the United States and Canada should endure, and will endure for a long span. They will work hand in hand not only to preserve their warm friendship, but to strengthen their social and economic relations.” Air Davis concluded: “In fifty and seventy-five years from now this country (Canada) will have fifty to seventy-five millions of people. She is small now, but she can grow, and frofn what I saw ii v i Britain the other day there is mighty good stock for you fellows to bripg over.”
