SUSPICIOUS FIRES, HOKITIKA REPORTS.

Per Press Association. HOKITIKA, Novemb.r 19. Two fires occurred during the night. At nine o’clock a stable at the rear of the Government Buildings was found ablaze. It was extinguished without much damage. At four o’clock this morning, St Mary’s School, in Sewell Street, was found ablaze. This undoubtedly had been the work an an incendiarist. The flames had a good hold, but the fire brigade made a brilliant save, and the damage was confined to the roof. The main portion of the building was saved intact. The insurance was £OSO in the Royal Office. The damage done does not exceed £l5O.
