Mr A. V. Shorter, of Wellington, is itaying at Warner's Hotel.
Messrs F. J. Earle and W. Nicholls (Wellington), are staying at the Clarendon Hotel. A Vancouver message says that Sir Donald and Dady M'Uavin are passengers lor Wellington by the Aorangi. [Professor C. R. Knight (Auckland), Mr 11. F’. Weston (England), and Mr M. M. ITeinemann (Wellington', are among recent annuls at the United Service Hotel.
The Rev 11. F. Ault. M.A.. of Rangiora, passed Part A of Grade IV. examination of the Board of Theological Studies of New Zealand, in the examinations held at the end of September. Mr X. Baker, of the Kaiapoi telephone exchange, who is leaving for Nelson, was last evening the recipient of a wallet of notes from the subscribers to the exchange. Mr Vincent Cl. Freeth, well known in the publicity in New Zealand, and formerly of the Charles Ilaines Advertising Agency, Ltd., Christchurch, has been appointed advertising manager for the Gordon and Gotch Advertising Agency. It was decided at the annual meeting of the General Committee of the Canterbury and West Coa<t centre of the St John Ambulance Association last night to recommend Mr J. A. Flesher and Dr Borrie to St John’s Gate, London, for the Order of St John.
