sadorship to Germany immediately the Locarnf* Treaty is signed in London. Lord d'Abernon has Ambassador to Berlin since 1920. He has had a long and distinguished career in the Diplomatic Service and has held many important posts, particularly in the Balkans and Egypt. From 1899 to 1906 he represented Exeter, ns a Conservative. in the House of Commons. He was kept very busy in war-time ns chairman of the Board of Liquor Traffic Control. He was created a peer in 1914 and G.C.M.G. in 1917.
