WEDDING. SMITH—SCOTT. Arum lilies and. mauve rhodedendrons, and a large wedding bell, formed the artistic decorations for a wedding which was held at the Durham Street Methodist Church this afternoon u hen Miss Rita May, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Scott. Edgeware Road, ■was married to Mr Leslie Smith, cider son of Mr and Mrs F. Smith, Bealcy The officiating clergyman was the Rev M Hay and Mr Ernest Firth presided at the organ. The bride, who was Riven away by her father, made a charming figure in her distinctive frock of ivory georgette, made with finely pleated panels back and front. Her long train was caught at the shoulders with a spray of orange blossoms and was formed of ivory cire lace lined with pale shell pink georgette. Her filmy veil, beautifully- embroidered, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom buds anrl fell in long graceful folds to the hem of her gown. She carried a shower bouquet of hot-house flowers. Two maids were in attendance. Miss \ era Smith, sister of the bridegroom, wearing a frock of crocus mauve georgette, with pin tucked panels down the back and front, and an apron pane] bordered with wide guipure lace, and Miss Dorothy Ball, of Greymouth. cousin of the bride, who wore a dainty frock of apple, green georgette made on straight lines, with a finely pleated panel down the bark and a flared skirt. Both maids wore hair bands of silver ribbon with clusters of petals to tone' with their frocks and carried bouquets of mauve and pink sweet peas. Mr Byron Lowe attended the bridegroom as best mgn. Following the reremonv a reception was held at the Winter Garden, where Mrs Scott received the guests wearing a frock of black French crene de-chine, made on straight lines, with an apron panel of lace and an effective scarf of the same lane. 7Tor smart black hat was trimmed with osorcys. and she carried a bouquet of deep pink ro^es. Mrs F. Smith, mother of the bridegroom, wore a handsome frock of navv blne satin touraine with trimmings of Oriental brocade, a hat of naw'blue georgette, with trimmings of varicoloured flowers and ospreys and carried a bouquet of scarlet roses. M hen the bride and bridegroom left; for their wedding tour. the bride travelled in an attractive frock of naw blfe georgette mane on straight lines, with a panel of grey pin tucked georgette in front.‘and a navy ribbon hat with an osprey mount at one side. She. carried a grev fox fur.
