LEOPARD ELUDES DOGS AND VOLUNTEERS
HOPE OF CAPTURE GIVEN UP AT PRESENT. Per Press Association. A ( 1 ' l\ I. A X L>. September 2J. The leopard that escaped from the Zoo has had 'live nights' liberty. Volunteers, scoured the countryside unsuccessfully with dogs on Saturday. Otherwise an organised search has been abandoned, as there is little hope of capture till the animal is., seen and a proper beat arranged. Meantime, eight Zoo attendants, armed with guns and clubs, have been stationed at the most likely points.
