A fatal motor cycling accident occurred on the Main South Road on Saturday evening, when Martin M illiam Laffey. aged twenty-two. single, sustained injuries which resulted in his death, before a. doctor could arrive. Dr Connor immediately went out. but Laffey , was dead before he arrived. An in ■ quest was opened at Ashburton yesterday morning by the District Coroner. * Mr lames Cow. An uncle of deceased. . Mr John Laffey. gave formal evidence j of identification, and the inquest was I adjourned until Monday week.
