Doctor Pycroft, of the Zoological section of the British Museum, advanced the theory that the Polynesian migrant came from America instead of having gone to America from Ihe Pacific. The surprising likeness between all these skulls could not he mere coincidence, but rather implied If my interpretation is accepted, it will elucidate the* problem which has long troubled us. Our conception of species and races is in a state of mush. No classification of man yet published stands the test of criticism.”
