Mr Bell said yesterday that ir seemed to him to he a remarkable thing that the Fair mouth librarian should have sent a letter over l-I.GOQ miles of ocean to ask advice, when he might have got it closer at hand. It represented a tribute of the highest nature to the Christchurch "Library, and he was extremely pleased to have received the letter.
