The funeral of the late Mr Frederick Palmer, for many years a prominent officer of the Post and Telegraph Department, took place at Wellington on Saturday, and was largely attended. The late Mr Palmer’s genius .as an inventor of mechanical devices proved of much value to the Post and Telegraph Department, and included the coin-in-t.he-slot telephone, and it * latest development, the automatic slot telephone.
