The Berlin correspondent of *• Tho Times” says:—“The German Press goes to extremes in commenting on tho French Note which will be answered by a request for further information in regard to matters which are described as ‘conflicting with the League’s Covenant,’ while Fascist and extreme Nationalist organs blatantly call for the unhesitating abandonment of the Par t proposals. “The Centre and Left Press just as vigorously urge the Government to proceed with the negotiations and their attitude may be summer] up in the single sentence: The sooner there* is a conference the better, as far us the Nationalist Party is concerned. II is believed that the National Party i wiil oppose any negotiations, until Cologne is evacuated and disarmament is finally settled.”
