GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S ILLNESS.
ENGAGEMENTS CANCELLED. Owing to an attack of lumbago and tho after effects of a cold, his Excellency the Governor-General lias been advised by his medical man to cancel all engagements for this week. II is Excellency hopes io be well enough to leave for AYeJlington on. "Wednesday evening as previously arranged. This morning it was announced that his condition was slightly better. To-morrow night her Excellency, the Lady Alice Eergusson, will take his Excellency’s place at the Chamber of Commerce\dinner, and afterwards will attend the reception at tho Canterbury Women’s Club. At the Chamber of Commerce dinner her Excellency will respond to the toast of bis Excellency.
