A meeting of the Royal Arch Chapter No. 1, U.A.0.D., Canterbury Grand Lodge, was held on Tuesday, the K.Y.A.D., Bro. Barnes, presiding over a large attendance of members. Among those present were: P.G.P. Bro. George, P.G.P. Brother Smith, P.G.P. Brother Luxton. P.G.P. Brother Bates, and the G.G Brother A. Bailey. P.A. Brother G. Ironsides and P.A. Brother •K. Kinsman were initialed into the chapter. The degree was conferred in a very able manner by the R.V.A.D., Brother Barnes, assisted by P.G Brother Bates and the J.P.A.D., Brother O’Donohue. It was decided to hold 'the first competition for the V.A. charge in the Hope of St Albans Lodge. P.G.P. Brother George reported that the judges had been allotted their respective nights to officiate at the various competitions. It was decided to •allocate £1 Is for first prize and 10s Gd for second for the four solo competitions, and that a framed photograph of the winning team be presented to the winners of the grand initiation ceremony. An invitation was received from Ivy of Lin-wood Lodge, asking the chapter to be present at the function of holding a Druids' Son initiation night, which was accepted. It was also decided to hold a country teams’ initiation ceremony competition on or about Labour Day. P.D.P. Brother Alorrison offered to donate a trophy of a pair of gavels for this competition, which was accepted by the chapter.
