Avbo occupies Ibc Chair of Eugenics at London University, has offered to buy the coffin for exhibition in tho uniAorsity. !i is stated that the body of Darwin lay in the coffin for a time, after his death, a. most elaborate one Ivcing provided when it was decided to bury him in Westminster Abbey. Ilis name and the date of his death appear on a plate on flic coffin, which it- takes two- men to lift. Professor Pearson in his letter says: “It is a pity the coffin should bo made a show of for the idle crowd.”
