Mrs E. Vincent, Kingsdown. has returned south from Christchurch. Mrs P. lv. Woodhouse Bluecliffs, lias arrived in Christchurch. Mrs J. M’Donald.' Ashhurst, is visiting: Christchurch. Miss Ifetherington, Cashmere, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs Claude Sawtell is visiting Wellington, and is staying at the Hotel Cecil. Mrs F. H. Payne. Christchurch is visiting her daughter, Mrs Ashley Dean, King Country. 31 r and Mrs Wyvern Wilson, Feudal lon, have returned to Christchurch from Auckland. Miss Nettie Wolf and Miss Cissy Mahuke, of Lincoln, left yesterday for a holiday visit to Gore. Mr Justice Stringer and Mrs Stringer, who were on the French Riviera, have returned to England, where they will remain until November. Mrs and Airs W. T. Poppelwell, Gore, arrived in Christchurch to-day and are at the Clarendon Hot-el. Mrs R. H. Rhodes, Came, Sealey Street Timaru, and her guest Airs Arthur Martin, .Martinborough, arrived in Christchurch on Monday. Mrs and Miss Philip, of Invercargill, arrived in Christchurch from! Akaroa last evening and left to-day Mrs V. Nosworthy (Ashburton) and Mr and Mrs C. A. Crowe (Geraldine) left Christchurch by the midday train for the south to-day. Airs E. Go she ad will arrive in Christchurch this evening from Timaru to attend the wedding of her son. Mr Norman Coxhead, to Miss Peggy FerMr and Airs A. Brooke, late matron of Rannerdale Home, Christchurch, is at present visiting Airs H. Marshall, Karori. Wellington. She returns to Christchurch this week, and will be the guest of Mrs A. Templer (Ranfurly Street) until her marriage to Air W. J. Brown. The engagement is announced of Aliss Alary Ellen Dickie, eldest daughter of Airs W. J. Dickie and the late Mr W. J. Dickie, cf Lyndhurst, to Mr John William Woodcock, of W eilington elder son of Superintendent C. Woodcock, of Bradford, England.
