INFANTILE PARALYSIS IN MELBOURNE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. MELBOURNE, May 12The City Council discussed the prevalence of inf ait tile paralysis in and about Melbourne. It was urged, in view of New Zealand’s experience, that the council should prepare for anv emergency. Lr Hughes stated that the average number of cases in the Children's Hospital previously did not exceed three. This year there had been twenty-two, with five deaths. There were at least two other deaths outside, and one docto" was caring for eleven cases. The council decided to form a standby organisation in the event of it being needed. A conference of health officers is to be held to discuss the position.
