A COMPLAINT.
TO Tg* EIUXOR Sir, —May T, through the medium of your paper, lodge a grievous complaint on behalf of the public for the abominable beautiless way the Sanatorium and Coronation Hosptal grounds have been kept these last two or three years. These places being under the control of the North Canterbury Hospital Board, one would think that more interest would be taken in the beautification of these sanatoria in comparison with Christchurch Hospital grounds. The only beautified ground on the hill is that of Dr Blackmore’s garden. Weil, si*s why isn't the whole hill in the shame condition, instead of filling the grounds with weeds, grass and rubbish. Absolutely detestible it is to see these places in such a shocking state, and it is time some interest is started to be taken in the beautification of the grounds. Why haven’t the late Hospital Board members noticed this ailment? They would have gone frantic if the Christchurch Hospital grounds were not up to their usual brilliancy and tidiness. Cannot the new board start and take a future interest in the beautifying of the sanatoria by putting a capable head gardener on the place—one who is good at organisation?—l am. etc., BEAUTIFIER.
