MO LOAN FOR CHRISTCHURCH. Trin Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 28. Sir Francis Bell stated to-day with reference to the Christchurch" City Council's protest against the refusal of a. State advance for a workers’ dwelling loan of £20,090 that applications to tlie Advances Oljce for loans to discharge mortgages affected by the Mortgages Extension Act and for building houses had been abnormally large and no moneys were available lor loans to local authorities. It was necessary to provide first for the class of borrower who could not obtain money from other sources.
