Newton (Wellington >. and E. K. Miller (Sydney) are among the recent arrivals at Warn ores. The Rev Hubert L. Simpson, M.A., tho distinguished Scottish preacher, passed through Christehureh this morning on his way to Mount Cook for a few days. ‘Mr Simpson will return to Christchurch on Saturday, ami will preach next Sunday, at Si Andrew's Church in the morning ami Sr Paul's at night. Mr Simpson. who is a nephew of the late Rev Dr Whyte, of Free St George's. Edinburgh, is the auihcfr of three notable volumes. “The Intention ol Mis Soul.” ‘'Altars of Earth” and “Put Forth by the Moon.” popular and highly successful minister ol \\ estbournc Church, Glasgow, and is regarded as the finest preacher in Great Britain.
