PERSONAL.
Mr T. Godkin, Taranaki, is a recent arrival at the Clarendon Hotel. Mr Tt. L. M. Ivitto, who recently underwent a serious operation at a private hospital, has returned home. Messrs 13. L. Hammond and R. N. Humphries ('Wellington') are recent arrivals at Warner’s Hotel. Tho Rev John Harris has been appointed Methodist Chaplain to the Christchurch Hospital, Sanatoria and other public institutions. Messrs W. G. Taifc (Invercargill), R. I'. Slater, A. C. Mitchell, Charles Shaw and H. Archer (Wellington) are recent arrivals at the United Service Hotel. Mr Tom Pauling, who represented New Zealand at Rugby in 1897 and who is now a resident of Sydney, Ims h«»en elected an Alderman of Ra.ncL wick. Mr Pauling for many years has been a prominent referee in Australia. Mr TT. L. Gibson, train running officer at the Christchurch district traffic manager’s office, has been promoted to the position of transport officer in succession to Mr J. C. Schneider, who has keen appointed to a position in the head office.
