At a meeting of the Wellington Presbytery on Tuesday evening, it was stated that the Rev Van der Las. Presbyterian minister of Seattle, United States, is to take tli<- place of the Rev S. R. Orr. of St Andrew’s Church, who is leaving shortly on an extended holiday. The question was raised as to whether an American minister relieving in New Zealand can legally niarr.* British subjects. "The Rev 51 r Orr said that the matter was quite in order, suited on tlije point. In any case, if there was any doubt, the uncertainty could he set at rest bv his nomination. Tt was stated that Air Van der Las would arrive in May. A committee was appointed to consider the matter and report to the Presbytery.
