SELWYN NURSING DIVISION.

The fcjelwyn Nursing Division on Saturday afternoon hold- a garden party at the home of Mrs Angus, Heathcote. in honour of their lady superintendent, Airs H. H. Smith, who has been promoted to the rank of lady corp-. superintendent. A large number of members of the division attended, and there were also present Dr ! Jessie Scott and Miss Cooper of the ! official staff, and Mrs Russell, a past ! superintendent of the division. Sev- ! eral apologies for absence were received. The guest of honour received a I bouquet. After afternoon tea the ! secretary referred to the high esteem j in which Mrs Smith was held by the division, and by all those who worked , with her. Under her the Selwyn Nursing Division had been brought to a high state of efficiency. At the ' sub-district competition-, the division had won the Association Challenge Cup | and the individual prize ; while at the j inter-district competitions. held on j Labour Day, the division had won five j out of the six possible prizes. The S Se I wyn A team is the official team to •J take part in the Wellington competitions. Dr Borrie then, on behalf of the division, presented Mrs Smith with an engraved kettle and spirit stand. He mentioned that Mrs Smith had i joined the Sehvyn Division thirteen and a half years ago in 1911. and had car- | ried out in succession the duties ~f 1 lady secretary and treasurer, seqond • officer, first officer, and for the past | four years of lady superintendent.
