DIXIE JUBILEE SINGERS.
The Dixie Jubilee Singers, who arrived by the last San Francisco steamer after a highly-successful tour oi the United States and Canada-, arc said by prominent American authorities to be a first-class combination. Exceptional success was scored in "Wellington, where the choir opened its tour, and is now appearing nightly to overflowing houses. Jubilee hymns, plantation and cabin songs, ballads and negro lullabies, sentimental ballad-. coon songs and comedy, interludes. operatic and oratorical selections. ail come alike to the fervid and ecstatic racial temperament, and the. conductor. Mr W. C. Buckner, himself a coloured bass of more than passing popularity in musical America, has selected and trained his choir admirably Their programmes of old and new favourites are practically inexhaustible and rapid changes are the order of the day.
