TRUE BILLS.
DUNEDIN CRIMINAL SESSIONS. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, November 10. The criminal sittings of the Supreme Court opened this morning. They consist of two cases, one of indecent assault on a female and the other a charge of murder. In the latter a young woman, named Marguerite Elizabeth Hand, was employed as a housemaid at a hotel and gave birth to a child, the body being found in a drawer with a piece of clothing tightly constricting the neck. Medical evidence showed that death was due to asphyxia, following strangulation. True bills were returned in both cases. PRISONERS SENTENCED. A prisoner named George Sudden was sentenced, after pleading guilty t*> indecent assault on a female, to three 'ears’ reformative treatment. Norman Augustus Ingle for attempted ram a! knowledge (two charges) and for indecent assault on a female was sentenced to tve years’ imprisonment. TO BE DETAINED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. November 10. At the Supreme Court to-day a youth named Clifford Edward Odlin. charged with stabbing a young girl, in the Nairn Street Reserve, the jury found accused insane. The Judge ordered him to he detained in Porirua Mental Hospital until the pleasure of the AFnister of Justice is known.
