The Heath cote team defeated the Lyttelton Trinity Club by five games on Saturday in the B Grade competition. Y.W.C'.A. CLUB. On Saturday the Y.W.c.A. Tennis Club commenced its season at the East Christchurch School court. Miss Ruth Jarvis, girls’ department secretary, formally declared the court open and wished the club every success during the coming season. Afternoon tea was served by members of the commit Lee to about twenty-five girls TEKOA CLUB OPENED. The Tekoa Tennis Club, which has been formed in connection with the Sydenham Girls’ and Boys’ Club, was opened on Saturday in the Sydenham School grounds. -Mr J. K. Archer, in declaring the court open, wished the club every success. Tennis was an ideal recreation, because it not only demanded good individual play, but also fostered the team spirit. Afternoon tea was served and a happy afternoon spent. At a previous meeting of the Tekoa Tennis Club Mrs H. D. Muir was elected as president and Miss C. Munroe secretary. WAI-ITI V. TEMUKA.
