MR HUGH CHISHOLM. By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright. Reuter's Telegrams. (Received September 30, 11.35 a.m.? LONDON, September 29. The death occurred of Air Hugh Chisholm after ah operation for appendicitis.

Hugh Chisholm, editor of the Encyclopaedia Brittanioa, was born in i ion (lion in 1860. He was assistant editor of “St James’ Gazette,” subsequently becoming a leader writer for

“ Tlie Times.” He was editor-in-chief of the eleventh edition of the En qfr olopae di a Brittanioa, and since 1913 editor of the Brittanioa Year Book. From 1913 to 1920 he was financial editor of “The Times.”
