Mr R. C. Bishop has received from Mrs Willis the original “ Order of Choice,” No. 38, for section 67 and 68, Lyttelton. Its principal interest is Ihe well-preserved signature, “ John Robt. Godley,” Principal Agent. It was made in favour of “ J. S. Willis,” whose signature. also is on it. This was Dr Willis. The date is February 17, 1851. Mrs Willis married Mr C. Willis, Dr Willis’s son. She believes that the sections were sold by Dr Willis to Sir Frederick Weld, an early Premier of New Zealand. The document will be placed amongst the achives of the Canterbury Pilgrims’ Association.
