CLUBS’ PROTECTION ASSOCIATION. The Canterbury Athletic Clubs Protection Association's thirty-fourth annual report state? that during the year one club has affiliated, viv... Fend a l ton Swimming Tab. while two clubs have dropped out. fiz., Kaianoi Cycling Club and Svdenham Amateur Swimming Club. Therefore the total membership still hands at thirtyseven affiliated clubs. The decrease in tin number of names submitted by tho clubs is very noticeable there being only sixty one names as against 104 last year. The committee expresses appreciation of the assistance rendered by the governing bodies of sport, who eudorse the association's disqualifications without which assistance and co-operation its work could not be made so effective. During the past rear Mr 11. C. Harrison, honorary secretary and ireasurer-, left on a visit to England. The committee was fortunate in ?eourirtg the services of Mr J. < lomcns n» ictir-g-ecwetary during Mr Harrison s ah seuce. The financial statement show- the receipts to have been £63 15s 6d. including the balance brought forward of £29 1 3 8d *nd the disbursements £3B V2s -id leaving a credit balance of £25 3s 6d. The commitfee points out to officials of clubs the □eoeseity of keeping the defaulters’ list properly checked and promntlv to enforce suspensions wheu notified, and in any other ii root ion to do their utmost to enhance :he work of the association.
