DASH THROUGH ICE.

ADVENTUROUS VOYAGE TO SIBERIA. LONDON, August 8. Three ships now in the Port of Loudon—the Arcos, Leonid Krassin and Loos —are preparing for a dash to Siberia. It is expected that they will sail in three weeks' time, but they have to be ready to leave at any moment. There is a break in the ice-barrier off the Siberian coast about this time of the year, but it closes in as rapidly as it breaks, and the sea route is then cut off for at least eight months. The ships will leave London with a general cargo, of which machinery will lorm a largo part. On arrival in the Kara Sea, in the Arctic Ocean, they will be met by an ice-breaker and convoyed in to the River Ov, where the cargo is to be discharged. The cargo for the return voyage—which includes furs, hides and flax—it. it is understood, ready for embarkation. It is two years since a ship has been able to reach Siberia by this , route.
