Believed by many to he. a “quack,” the, late 7>r Albert Abrams, M.D., A.M., LL.IX, has many followers throughout the world, and this !><> minion also has his adherents, as was i shown recently l>v the controversy which followed on the derision in the recent Court ease in Auckland.
Dr Abrams took post-graduate lourses in London, Berlin, Paris, and Vienna. He was Professor of Pathology in Cooper Medical College ;. Presiaenfc Emanuel Polyclinic, Fellow of the Royal Microscopic Society, President San Francisco Medico-Chirurgical Society, and Vice-president of the Californian State Medical Society. He was the author of a number of works on medical science :—“ Symptoms of Morbid Renal Secretions,” “ Manual of -Clinical Diagnosis.” “ Consumption : Its Causes and Prevention,” “ Transactions of the Anti-Septic Club,” “ Scattered Leaves of a Physician's Diary,” “Diseases of the Heart,” “ Nervous Breakdown,” “ The • Blues,’ ' “ Diagnosis of the Lungs,” “Self-Poisoning. Diagnostic Therapeutics.” “Spinal Therapeutics.” “New Concepts in Diagnosis and Treatment,” and “ Spoudylotherapy.” He was during his later years presi- * dent of the American Association for ( the study of psycho-physical research. The system of treatment dealt with in “New Concepts in Diagnosis and Treatment ” lias aroused the warmest controversy in recent years throughout the medical world. i
