DANCE AT PAPANUI.
The hall at Papanui was very bright with vari-coloured streamers and palms last evening when the Papanui Orchestra! Society held their annual dance arid euchre party. Paper streamers were suspended from the ceiling and formed an overhead canopy, while a iarge bell hung from the centre of the room Nuttall’s Orchestra provided the* dance music. During the evening several' selections were given, under the baton of Mr F. V. Wade. The committee who organised the evening included Mr R. Hawke (president of the society), Mesdames Church, Owers and Taylor, Misses L. Church and C. Church, f Messrs R. Taylor, \\ Church and ' Hatch. Included in those present were: Mrs R. Taylor, sunset pink and silver shot taffetas beaded; Mrs F. E. Owers, black taffetas beaded ..in silver; Miss C. Church, jade and copper shot satin;
Miss L. F. Church, jade green silk, with inlet band of gold and black lace; Airs L. Bowman, navy blue silk poplin; Airs Seabrook, midnight blue velvet ; Mrs E. Fowler, raspberry pink black net overdress, handsomely embroidered; Miss M. Davies, raven wing blue silk faille, gold lace sleeves; G. Eder, apricot and silver shot taffetas: H. Bowman, iade green brocaded satin, with girdle of gold leaves; E. Henshaw, black and white silk ostrich feather trimmings; R. Hookharn. shell pink satin; radium lace; R. Shaw, shell pink georgette; N. Walton, navy brocaded satin; D. Boyce, primrose crepe de chine; M. Lawrence, blue and silver shot marocain; V. Phillips, navy satin, beaded in gold with radium lace overdress; R. Guy, black velvet and jersy silk, touches of cerise; R. Pearson, navy with paisley silk corsage; D. Tabley. apricot brocaded satin; H. Sierakowski, crushed rose silk; L. Hepburn, apricot crepe de chine; V. Aldridge, raspberry pink satin; E. Hobbs, jade green marocain; 8.. Wade, peach brocaded satin; M. Lord, saxe blue crepe de chine, silver lace bertha; I. Roper, lettuce green crepe de chine ; D. Lord, rose pink silk with touches of silver lace; D.
