SOUTH AFRICA WINS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Gnpv. Ight Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received July 16. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON. July 15. At Briley the Kolapore Cup was won by South Africa. The scores were as tollov/ : South Africa . . 1115 Canada . . 1108 Great Britain. . . 1105 Australia . . . 1101 Twenty years ago on July 15, 1904, a New' Zealand rifle team, after a keen and closely-contested match with the Mother Country, Canada. South Africa and India, succeeded in winning this important trophy, the most coveted prize of the various rifle associations of the Empire. The New Zealand team was under the command of Colonel R. J. Collins, of Wellington and consisted of A. Ballindtrer. J. W. Ching, W. Drummond, G. Haw f hoi n R. J. King. R. J. Irvine. A. M’Kenzie and A. Small, most of whom still take an interest in the game. It has been a matter keen regret to the riflemen of New Zealand that the Dominion is not, represented at ln<: great Imperial meeting of tins rear The insufficiency of the Government grant offered precluded the possibility of a. truly representative team being sent, the extra personal expense incurred being prohibitive to many of those soiected.
